उसके बाद आपको स्वरों का ज्ञान होना चाहिए के संगीत में कुल कितने स्वर होते हैं, कितने शुद्ध होते हैं, कितने कोमल होते हैं और कितने तीव्र होते हैं,
उसके बाद आपको अलंकार सीखने पड़ते हैं। वैसे तो शुरुआत में आप 20-25 अलंकार सीख सकते हैं। लेकिन आप जितने ज्यादा अलंकार सीखेंगे, आपको उतना ही ज्यादा फायदा होगा।
अलंकार सीखने के बाद आपको छोटे-मोटे भजन, गीत, गजल वगैरह सीखने पड़ते हैं और उसके बाद कुछ chords भी सीखने पड़ते हैं।
उसके बाद आपको राग सीखने पड़ते हैं।रागों में क्या क्या खास है जो सीखना आपके लिए जरूरी है, वह भी आपको बता देते हैं,सबसे पहले आपको रागों की बंदिशें सीखनी पड़ती हैं,जैसे कि छोटा ख्याल बड़ा ख्याल उसके बाद आपको रागों की परिभाषाओं के बारे में ज्ञान प्राप्त करना पड़ता है कि कौन सा राग किस थाठ का है उसका वादी स्वर कौन सा है उसका संवादी स्वर कौन सा है उसमें मुख्य स्वर कौन से लग रहे हैं, उसकी पकड़ क्या है, उसका गायन समय क्या है,उसके साथ -साथ उसकी तानें, बोलतानें और उसके आलाप के बारे में भी आपको ज्ञान प्राप्त करना पड़ता है।इसके साथ-साथ आपको इंडियन क्लासिकल म्यूजिक के जो मेन 10 थाट है, उनके बारे में भी पता होना चाहिए,
उसके बाद अगर आप चाहे तो कुछ नगमे,तराने और लहरे भी सीख सकते हैं।उसके साथ-साथ आपको किसी भी गीत, भजन या ग़ज़ल की नोटेशन की जानकारी भी होनी चाहिए कि उसको कैसे बनाते हैं?
उसके बाद आपको ताल का भी ज्ञान प्राप्त करना होता है कि कौन सी ताल कितनी मात्रा की है, उसके कितने विभाग हैं कहां पर ताली है कहां पर खाली है?
इसके इलावा एक गायक और वादक में क्या-क्या गुण और अवगुण होने चाहिए। उसके बारे में भी आपको पता होना चाहिए ताकि आप अपने संगीत के जीवन में कम से कम गलतियां करें।
